Spring 2014 Update

We’ve switched the file format of all updated documents for Spring 2014  (sample syllabi, schedules, writing assignments, etc.) from PDF to Word format (docx).  This should now allow you to  download the files and adapt them for your own classes.  Apologies for any confusion!

UPDATES to this site!

We’ve made a few cosmetic changes to the EN 1010 site here.  Hopefully they will make it easier for you to locate the information you need.  Now, instead of having to scroll through the entire homepage, searching for syllabi and schedules to fit your particular classes, you can simply choose from one of the following pages:

  • F2F/Tech-Enhanced EN 1010 OR
  • Online EN 1010

These new pages will contain the most up-to-date syllabi and scheduling information, organized by semester.  For now, the information from previous semesters is still located on the homepage of this site, as well as on the newly re-named “Syllabi Archives” page.

To find links to specific writing assignments, handouts and readings, please check the other pages on this site.  As always, we welcome your feedback!

Fall 2012 — Traditional (face-to-face) Classes and Tech-Enhanced Classes

For those of you who will be using The Academic Writer: A Brief Guide (2nd edition) by Lisa Ede in your fall classes, here are a couple of sample documents to help you get ready for the semester.

These documents are designed specifically for a traditional face-to-face class, so if you are teaching in a technology-enhanced format (i.e. you meet once a week in person and then the rest of your course discussions, peer reviews, assignment submissions, etc. are conducted online), please adjust these documents accordingly for your own sections of EN 1010.

NOTE:  Documents designed specifically for EN 1010 Online are listed in a separate posting on this blog.  Please check there for more details.  Thanks!

Each of the documents below is saved as a .doc file.  If you have any difficulties with the attachments, please let us know.
